When Ford Focus Transmission Breaks The Code: What’s Next for the Next Model?
Ford is reportedly considering a $1,500 upgrade to the Focus transmission, but it’s not quite ready to release the details just yet.
According to a recent article on Bloomberg, the automaker is considering a new model with a new, more efficient drivetrain.
The new transmission, according to Bloomberg, would offer an increase in efficiency of more than 2,000 horsepower.
It would also feature a new front-wheel drive system and an all-new rear-wheel-drive system.
The automaker has been working on the new drivetrain since last year.
The Focus model currently uses a four-cylinder engine with the front wheels mounted on the front axle.
This new transmission would reportedly be based on a four-, six-, or eight-cylinders engine, and it would include a higher output, depending on the model.
While the new transmission is not confirmed, Ford has previously said that it would likely include a six-speed automatic transmission.
The automaker also recently announced that it has signed a deal to sell a new version of the Focus hatchback, called the Focus GT, which would feature a seven-speed transmission.
