Trump administration approves $30M for collier school
President Donald Trump has approved a $30 million appropriation for a high school and college preparatory school in the rural West Virginia community of Collier, a school official said Wednesday.
The appropriation will be used to build a new collier High School and College Preparatory School, according to the Office of the President.
It will be funded by $4 million from the Department of Education’s College for Excellence in Education Fund, $2 million from The American Funds for Excellence and $1 million from Trump’s American Development Initiative.
Collier was the only high school in West Virginia to receive an All-American designation in the 2016 national rankings of high schools.
The school also was among the most diverse in the country in the 2017 American Communities Survey.
