How a former Barcelona coach could help Milan move to the Champions League
By Football Itlia staff Italia staff A former Barcelona manager has told Sport Mediaset that Milan are interested in signing a former Real Madrid coach.
A source close to Gianluca Vialli, who took over the Rossoneri from Luciano Spalletti in May 2017, told Sportmediaset on Tuesday that he was a target for Milan.
“We are trying to sign a manager in the Champions league with his knowledge of the competition,” Vialli told the newspaper.
“I am very keen to return to the club where I had my best days.”
After leaving Real Madrid for Inter Milan, Vialli spent three years in charge of the Serie A side and he was in charge until February 2019.
Milan were relegated from the Champions Leagues after winning Serie B in 2016.
“The manager of Milan is someone who knows the Champions and the Europa League,” he said.
“He knows how to win them.”
The former Juventus and Inter boss had two spells as Milan’s coach before his appointment.
